To avoid a cold or flu, we can make some changes from our daily habits.Recently, Reader’s Digest magazine summarized some considerations.  1.Do not bite fingernails.Ataturk University in Turkey found that biting nails can transfer bacteria to the mouth.  2.Disinfect the dishwashing sponge in the microwave.After washing the dishes every day, heat the sponge in the oven for 2 minutes.Microbiologists from the United States Air Force University have found that they can initially kill 99% of bacteria.  3.Take a walk.In a study by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, USA, postmenopausal women walked 5 times a week for 45 minutes each time. After one year of persistence, they had colds more often than women who did not exercise1/3.  4.Clean office and home objects.The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that objects that are frequently touched, such as door handles, remote controls, kitchen countertops, mobile phones, keyboards, toilet buttons, faucets, and light switches be cleaned frequently.  5. Get enough sleep.Reducing sleep time by 7 hours a day makes people susceptible to illness.A study by the University of Lubeck in Germany found that when you sleep less, the number of immune cells and proteins produced by the body also decreases.  6.Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.Antioxidants in brightly colored fruits and vegetables help maintain a strong immune system.Researchers at the University of Auckland in New Zealand found that participants taking flavonoids were 深圳丝袜会所 33% less likely to catch a cold.Antioxidants (such as vitamin C) help fight infections and extend recovery time.  7 Optimistic.Researchers at American Youth University have found that stress causes complications in the functioning of the immune system.It raises heart rate and blood pressure, resulting in decreased immune function.  8.Drink more water.Drinking more white water can flush away the virus that caused the cold.The American Academy of Family Physicians says that to keep your body functioning optimally, you need to add more water.  9.Stay outdoors outdoors.A study by Tianjin University in China and Florida State University found that when the weather is cold, people stay indoors and come in close contact with others, the bacteria are more dense, which leads to mutual infection.  10.Rinse your nose.A study by the Moller 杭州桑拿 Teaching Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic found that rinsing the nose with saline solution had a positive effect on the prevention of colds and flu.Rinsing the nasal passages with saline can replace mucus, helping the fine hair in the nose to wash away bacteria more effectively.(Compiled by Zhao Pengcheng)
